Why ballroom dancing rocks!

I began studying ballroom dancing in preparation for my wedding last year. I have always considered myself a coordinated person and a decent dancer. However, after the first lesson I was no longer very confident I was either. It began somewhat spastic but the longer we (my husband and I) stuck with it the better we became and more importantly the more fun we had.

While I am far from ready to enter myself as one of the pros on Dancing with the Stars, I do consider myself on the road to becoming a great dancer. I have several dances under my belt (albeit some of them I only know a handful of steps), and I now enjoy hearing Brick House (a Hustle) and Wake me up before you go-go (a jitterbug) at weddings.

I encourage anyone with two left feet, or who thinks they have nothing more to learn to check out a ballroom dance class. You might start out embarassed but you will leave feeling like if you ran into Antonio Banderas in a dark alley, you could totally take him! In a Dance contest I mean, get your mind out of the gutter, geez.
