Woot it’s Friday! All sorts of weekend possibilities lay before you. Isn’t is funny how even if you have no job, Friday always feels like the beginning of something good? If you work a grueling full time job, then Friday gives you a glimmer of hope of 2 days of freedom. If you are in college Friday might signal the beginning of a crazy 3 day party!
Friday always feels like the week is being refreshed. Whatever happened this week is about to be behind you and the expanse of a whole new week is in front of you. This Friday feels especially refreshing since Sunday is New Years Eve. Like the whole year is being refreshed!

History
Starting in America, it has become a common expression of relief at the end of the work week and anticipation of relaxing or partying over the weekend. The phrase was further popularised by the 1978 movie starring Donna Summer, Thank God It’s Friday. The phrase has also become common for advertising and promotional materials. On college campuses beginning in the 1970s, the phrase (sometimes shortened to “TG”) became associated with Friday afternoon beer parties, usually held outdoors.
