Well the unseasonably warm weather seems to have left NY state. It actually snowed yesterday! Well Ok like 1 inch but still, it was real snow. I think these strange 65 degree January days are behind us and mother winter has finally arrived! I have to say, I was getting a little anxious with all of this sunshine and birds chirping and whatnot. Anyone who lives in an area with rough winters knows that an unusually warm winter means you are going to get bitten in the you know what come spring and summer. I don’t want the entire month of July to be 113 degrees every single day with 100% humidity.

Here’s hoping that winter will catch up with herself, send us some cold, some snow (but hopefully not more than we can handle), and forgive us our weird 60+ degree days than went well into the beginning of January. If this was what Al Gore was talking about in an Inconvenient Truth, then sign me up for a Prius! Because I do not dig these weird non-season seasons where it could go from -5 degrees to 85 degrees in the matter of 48 hours. Tulips are not supposed to bloom in February! These weird warm spells always screw up the apple orchards. And we all now how I cherish my annual apple picking jaunts. So get cold and stay cold!
