After I was done whiping tears from my eyes I checked out their website to find out more about this amazing father and son team. What they have been able to accomplish together is truly inspiring. This family is a shining beacon of hope.

Rick Hoyt uses a wheelchair. That has not stopped him from living a very full and amazing life. He’s competed in the Boston Marathon 25 times, and in Ironman Triathalons eight times. He, along with his dad, Dick, have formed “Team Hoyt” and they compete around the world doing marathons and triathalons. The Hoyts have competed in over 945 athletic events in the last 27 years. Dick, 66, is a retired Lt. Colonel, having served in the military for 37 years. Rick, 44, is a graduate of Boston University with a degree in Special Education. They have appeared on HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel”, where their segment recently won a Sports Emmy Award for Best Long Feature. They also travel the world speaking out about people with disabilities and promoting the Team Hoyt motto, “Yes You Can”. Hear a truly inspirational story that is truly positive and uplifting.
