Most of my experiences with customer service people have been mediocre at best. You order something that gets lost, you call customer service they transfer you 8 times, leave you on hold for 10 minutesĀ and eventually hang up on you. You get a $900 bill for something that was supposed to be covered be insurance and customer service tells you they never sent a bill and you must be mistaken. Always a challenge to get the right person on the phone, with the right answer.
Recently, I reached out to the customer service department of Hannaford supermarkets. The long boring story short it they produce a monthly free ‘magazine’ that has recipes, articles, coupons, etc. I had saved a prior issue because of a great recipe I found, and made for Christmas. Last week I realized said copy was gone, poof into thin air. So I figured hmmm I will look on the Hannaford website and see if I can find the archived copy. They did have the archived copy but did not have the entire issue available. So I emailed and then called customer service. Not only did they promise me they would find and mail me a copy but they actually did! A few days later I got a large manilla envelope in the mail, with a nice letter saying they appreciate me contacting them, and that there research department found me a copy of that issue and the recipe in question was on page 30, thanks for shopping, etc. Not only were the reps on the phone pleasant but they actually followed through, and fast.
I knew I liked shopping at Hannaford! It is nice to know that the company really is as with it as I had hoped they would be. Go customer service!
