I am trying to put my cat on a diet. She is not gigantic but she is a couple of pounds heavier than she could be. She is extremely active and playful so I never really worried about how much she was eating. So now I am trying to stick to a better feeding schedule in the hopes that she won’t get huge and will stay healthy.

Problem is I spoil my cat. Not with nonstop treats but with attention and access to pretty much every corner of my home and with a lot of food in her bowl. If the bowl is empty, well why don’t I fill it? Nevermind she just ate a huge bowl of food 15 minutes ago.

So far she seems to be pretty peeved at the lack of a full bowl at all times experiment. We will see how it goes. I guess this is good practice for kids. ‘No you can’t have a snickers for breakfast because it will clog your arteries!’ For some reason I think it will be easier to say no to a kid than to my cat. Weird huh?
