Although it embarasses me slightly to admit that I like this channel. Long gone are the days of non-stop music and videos. No more Grind, or Headbangers Ball. Replaced now by The Hills, Engaged and Underage and NEXT. Most of these shows I find ridiculous but I sometimes catch myself getting sucked into a re-run of say The Hills while sitting on the couch flipping through channels.

What is it about this new cheesier MTV that grabs my non-teen interest? I shouldn’t like this channel anymore, or any of these shows. This whole reality tv craze has made tv quite confusing. There are almost no actors on television anymore, just lame fame-hungry people begging for 15 minutes of stardom who will do anything, date anyone or embarass themselves to any extreme to achieve it.

These fame seekers are able to mix and mingle with Hollywood’s young and troubled “It” crowd, getting invited to parties and skipping the lines at the hottest clubs in hopes of ending up looking like a drunken mess in People magazine.

When did MTV turn less Vh1 and more Paris Hilton? What did I miss?!

Get back to the music MTV. Leave the lame shows for all the other networks to scoop up, I am sure they would love too!
