So my mom’s birthday is St. Patricks day..Happy almost birthday mom…and it got me thinking about holiday birthdays. Is having your birthday on a holiday a big gip or totally rad? Well let’s examine the pros and cons:
Pros: You get those cute combo holiday/birthday cards - which I guess could also be a con?
There is always a lot of celebration going on around holidays so it won’t be hard to find something festive to do on your birthday.
People might have a better chance of actually remembering your birthday.
Cons: You have to share the spotlight with whatever holiday is going on. Heaven help you if you are born on Christmas.
You could get a weird nickname based on which holiday you were born on. For example: being born on Easter could result in some hybrid of your name and bunny spliced together.
If you are born on Christmas do you get an extra gift for your birthday or less gifts because it’s also your birthday? Hmmm could be a con.
I guess I would need to take a poll of some holiday babies to get a solid answer. For the most part, no one whom I have met has seemed to mind all that much. Either way, your birthday is still your day so whoop it up, holiday or not.
