So it’s mid march, daylight savings has come and gone and spring is on the way…I hope. Recently upstate NY has been getting some spring like weather mixed in with the bitter cold. March is always an interesting month, some years it is sunny and warm and some years it is bombarded by storms and ice. This year seems to be an odd mix of the two.
Recently we went from -1 to 45 degrees in 3 days. This week a similar pattern emerged. The tease of spring mixed in with true winter weather makes for one spring fever-ish group!
It is funny how one warm-ish day, and by that I mean at least 50 degrees, can awake a yearning for warmth that we had all but forgottan since October. It is partly a physical need to be able to get outside and enjoy yourself in the sunshine and part emotional need to feel the warm breeze on your skin and see the sky still light brightly at 7 pm. It reawakens the spirit. Suddenly you are more willing to go out in the early evening because it isn’t yet dark. After dinner walks become a real possibility again. Just being able to open the windows to breathe the fresh air takes on a whole new meaning.

As a fellow Adirondacker, I can testify to our wacky weather, with a Nor-easter supposted to be blowing in tonight! Oh, I so want to go back to that 50 degrees.
Teetotaled, I was trying to remember how I found your site, but it was one of those “Alice down the rabbit hole” days.
