When you sign a card who do you sign it from? You and your spouse, you and the kids, you and the kids and the cat/dog perhaps? I have to admit, I sometimes sign my cat’s name on cards. Not to just anyone mind you! I’m not one of those cat people (close though, dangerously close). I will usually include her if I am signing a card to a real animal lover who may have A) already sent me something with their pets name on it or B) is someone who I know won’t go “God what a weird cat person!”
Yes my cat is not a human member of my family but she is part of the household. And if the mood strikes me, you are getting a card from me, my husband and Miss Nala, complete with hand drawn paw print. I have to assume that if we spoke the same language she would prefer I include her in my correspondence. So unless I find out otherwise, occassionally her name will end up at the bottom with mine.

Same. Only if the receiver is also an animal lover.

It only gets really weird when you let the cat mark the card.

Er…doesn’t everyone sign their cat or dog’s name. Are people laughing at me for doing it?

Deisel, having the cat mark the card would come in handy when corresponding with an enemy.
Jan - I know plenty of people who include their pets actually, even some on their voicemail messages.
