I recently posted about fun deadlines, deadlines for doing fun things you actually enjoy. Camping was one of the fun deadlines on that list and it is about to be crossed off! The first time I went camping my expectations were pretty low. I assumed I would be bombarded by large bugs and hate sleeping on the ground. What really happened was I was only moderately bombarded by bugs and really enjoyed sleeping on the ground. Ok on the ground isn’t so great by itself but on the ground outside…pretty neat.

I also dicsovered I am a good kindling gatherer. (Can you use gatherer without hunter-gatherer? I’m not sure but I am!)

Anyways, the point is camping is a lot more fun that I ever would have imagined and I am glad I gave it a try years ago because I discovered something I really enjoy. My only real nemesis while camping….daddy long legs. I know, I know, they are the “cute” spiders. Not to me. I think they are the ugliest of all the spiders and I cannot stand their weird legs. There I said it! I am prejudiced against daddy long legs. They always climb all over my stuff and take a nap. So I shake and shake and shake and they won’t leave. Why won’t they leave? Do they want to come home with me? I doubt it. They are just taunting me and that is rude. They better watch their p’s and q’s this trip or they will get a face full of skin so soft! Don’t test me spiders.

Hoping for dry weather and no weird campers in the park. You know who I am talking about, the guy who blasts The Who all night from his tent so no one can sleep. Or the guy who actually wants to come over and hang out at your firepit.
