Go away heat!

It looks like the hot spell we had this week is finally breaking and not a moment too soon. Not only was the 95+ degree heat bothersome to me, but my cat was annoyed as well. She often takes to lying right in front of the air conditioning unit to cool off but she was so annoyed at this week’s hot spell that she hid in my closet underneath my clothes. It was surprisingly cool in there as I found out when I went looking for her, so I did not disturb her in her new hideout. She has finally emerged which must mean it is only around 80 or so.

You know my cat is hot when she gives up her favorite past time - sitting in the window watching crows. If she is too hot to bird watch, it is probably too hot to go outside!

I do not love the heat. The older I get the more this stifling heat gets to me. The winter can be brutal as well but it is a lot easier to get warm than it is to cool off, and a lot cozier too. Plus, I am not a huge pool person and besides swimming, AC is really the only relief from a 100 degree day.

Is there anywhere in the country where the weather is fall-like all year round? Some people have suggested San Franciso, but I have never been. Constant fall I think I could live with. But then again, I would miss the spring. Oh well, I guess there really is no way to hide from the summer heat. It will find you in the form of high electric bills if you try to ignore it.

Cut me some slack summer, I could really use a few 70 degree days!

Oh, I am SO with you on this one! I’m not a heat person either. This weekend has been stunning, don’t you think? A perfect 10!
