According to this article most people mix in quite a bit of non-work at work. Come on, we have all spent time checking our personal email or made a personal call while at work. I don’t think there is anything wrong with working in a little “me” time at work, especially if you are ahead of schedule with your projects, or you are kept in the office for more than 10 hours a day for no good reason. If you spend the majority of time at your job, then your employer should expect that errands will be ran during lunch time, the occasional personal call (local only!) will be made and during the mid-afternoon lull emails will be checked.
However there is such a thing as too much “me” time at work. For example, the person who spends 6 out of 8 hours at work playing online chess or chatting on instant messenger with everyone they ever met.
What personal things do you do at work?

This is unacceptable. I need to see Surfing the Internet at least 67%.

I am sure it is closer to 100%. The survey participants probably felt bad for some of the other choices and checked those off instead.

I can’t believe the arriving late/leaving early percentage was so low. I bet all of the slowpokes didn’t arrive in time to answer the survey.
