(So far) Owning a home has taught me…
1. That having a decent drill really is imperative.
2. Priming the walls really makes a difference - when there is decades worth of horrible paint to cover.
3. The free category on craiglist.org rocks…seriously you need to see the stuff people are giving away for free.
4. It feels incredible to have an actual yard.
5. Owning a home is expensive…this I already knew but wow, it really is.
6. The way to a man’s heart is giving him access to a nice garage and then leaving him to do what he wants in there.

Oh geez, you HAVE to primer the walls if you’re covering nasty old paint. I hope you didn’t get too far before learning that.

We started out with primer just in case, so glad we did! We haven’t had to re-do anything thankfully. Nasty paint combined with smoking 3 packs a day sure does a number on the walls! Good grief!
