- Get your hearing checked. I believe that some people who don’t seem to “get the joke”, probably just can’t hear the joke very well. I had an old school hearing test (in the booth) in 2007 and found out I have perfect hearing. It’s good to find out which body parts are working properly!
- Don’t ever give anyone the middle finger while driving. If someone gives you the middle finger laugh and give them the thumbs up. Seriously, it will freak them out. A few years ago someone cut me off very badly (we were about an inch away from an accident) so I honked her and got a very spirited middle finger in return. I laughed and smiled at her and she looked totally appalled. Nothing like killin em with kindness!
- Always be gracious to people who handle your food, whether it is a waiter, a grocery clerk or bakery delivery guy. Seriously, don’t mess with the people who are in charge of your food - terrible things can happen!
- Aim to show your pets how much you love them and you still won’t come close to the unconditional love they bestow on you, but at least you will get closer. There are few heartaches that the love of a loyal furry friend cannot heal.
- If you want something just ask. You will be surprised how often people will say yes. Don’t forget to say it with a smile - a smile goes a long way, especially when the other person is having a bad day.

Good thoughts. I stopped going out with a man who was rude to waiters. For both reasons.

Jan - you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat waitstaff!
Karen - thanks!
