Cloverfield came out a few days ago and I got the chance to see it over the weekend. I am nervous about giving away plot points so I will try to keep this simple. If you love movies like Independence Day then this movie probably isn’t for you. If you loved The Blair Witch Project (and other movies along that vein) than you will probably enjoy this film. J.J. Abrams fans won’t be disappointed - and neither was I.
This movie actually did frighten me - which is rare these days - unless you are watching something completely gross like the SAW moviesĀ (which I do not!). I sat there anxiously awaiting the semi-happy ending that usually comes at the end of some big blockbuster-end of the world-don’t worry someone will save us type films. It never came. The ending will really punch you in the gut - that is all I can say without spoiling it.
I will warn you not to read any major reviews about this film - they will contain spoilers. This is definitely a movie you want to see raw.
This movie is rated PG-13 but I would think hard about letting young children view this film.
P.S. If you do go see this film, make sure you stay to watch the credits at the end.

I suppose I’ll probably see it on DVD. We did go see I Am Legend the other day, which was pretty good.

If you get the chance to see it in the theater I think you would enjoy it. I also wanted to see I am Legend but looks like I might miss it and have to get it from Netflix.
