Is it just me, or were this year’s Superbowl commercials sort of blah? Very few stick out in my mind from Sunday night’s game. The talking baby was pretty funny and some of the beer commercials warranted a laugh, but overall the commercials were pretty disappointing.
Obviously there is more pressure year after year to produce memorable, laugh out loud funny commercials for the Superbowl. Considering that a 30 second spot cost $2.7 million this year, these commercials should be pretty stellar. Even your run of the mill Geico commercials are better than most of the commercials that aired on Sunday night.
The lackluster commercials coupled with that horrific red carpet emceed by Ryan Seacrest, turned this year’s Superbowl experience into a rather dull one. Thankfully the game itself was an exciting one. Note to whoever organizes the Superbowl festivities - please do not ever invite Ryan Seacrest again and please do not subject us to celebrities plugging their new movies as they make their way into the stadium to watch the game. We get enough of that thank you!

I’m 37 years old and I’ve never watched a Superbowl. The only time I regretted it was when the Janet Jackson thing happened.

I wouldn’t miss a Super Bowl any more than I would miss Christmas. But the Seacrest celebrity fest was absurd and insulting.
