Teetotaled.com is a weblog about nutrition, healthy lifestyle choices, self-improvement, and overall enjoyment of life.
I wrote the other day about starting the SELF challenge - a 3 month diet/fitness plan. I have never been a big dieter but I thought this challenge would be worthwhile as I would like to be in better shape and loose a couple of pounds. Holy hell it is hard to stay under 1500 calories a day, no not hard, darn near impossible! I hate counting calories and now I have become one of those calories obsessed people…if I have 3.5 jelly beans and half a cookie with no icing I can have 1/3 of a glass of iced tea….ahhhhhhhhh!
Of course this weekend being Easter, some of my calorie counting (ok most of it) went out the window. But I behaved myself for the most part.
I must admit I do find dieting easier than working out, I freaking hate going to the gym. But Self.com has some great workout suggestions that anyone could do in their own home, so it hasn’t been so bad. I do need to work out more, but I am having trouble getting motivated.
For those of you who work out regularly, what do you do to get motivated? What keeps you going?
