The first bloom
My lilac bushes are in bloom! Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers and I am overjoyed that the two bushes in our yard are doing so well. The weather has been pretty nutty this past month so I was worried, but they are doing great so far. Now if I can plant (and keep alive) some other flowers then I will consider this spring a success!

I just had to tell you that your lilacs are gorgeous! I am so gee-golly jealous I can’t think straight. We can’t grow them in our little corner of Georgia. I asked right away when we moved in and when the first three greenhouse workers told me that it couldn’t be done — I went to the library. There had to be a way to grow lilacs!
Nope.
I guess I’ll just have to look at yours.

Lacy - I didn’t realize lilacs were so tempermental, since they are fairly common in NY state. Hope whatever else you can grow is bountiful this year!
