Ever dreamed of being a millionaire? If you are like most Americans, I am sure you have thought about it at least once or twice. This article on msn.com estimates how long it would take an average person (with an average job) to earn their first million. The list uses an estimated salary and seems to assume you are taking home every penny you make and not actually spending any of it. So while this is not a very realistic list, it is neat to see how long it would take to hypothetically accumulate this kind of wealth. A sampling of the list is below:
Architects, except landscape and naval: $64,150*
32,425 hours**
4,053 days
16 years
Automotive service technicians and mechanics: $33,780
61,576 hours
7,697 days
30 years
Bartenders: $16,350
127,226 hours
15,901 days
61 years
Bookkeeping, accounting and auditing clerks: $30,560
68,074 hours
8,508 days
33 years
Carpenters: $36,550
56,915 hours
7,113 days
27 years

That’s quote by Galileo is one of the best I’ve seen in quite awhile. And he lived quite awhile ago. Thanks.
