Memorial day always feels like the kick off of the summer season, although we have almost a month to go until the official first day of summer. BBQ’s, fireworks and blockbuster movie releases all make this long weekend feel like the first big hoorah of the summer. I think I actually ate the equivalent of my body weight in food this weekend…which is why I am going to the gym today in a feeble attempt to offset some of the damage.
If you didn’t go to the movies in weekend, in an attempt to let the crowds die down a little, may I recommend checking out Iron Man as soon as possible. It was in a word…spectacular. Not your typical superhero movie - this is no Spiderman. The effects are incredible naturally, the plot is above average for a “superhero” movie and the cast is perfect. Robert Downey Jr. was a brilliant casting choice, and this movie reminds you of just how charming and cute he really is.

We don’t go to very many theater movies (we get the DVDs later), but we talked about this one as a potential good escape show. Thanks for the input.

I saw it at the drive-in Paul and thought it was fantastic!

I saw it. Excellent! Robert Downey was perfect. Did you stay after the credits?
May 28th, 2008 at 9:59 am
No I didn’t stay…oh no, what did I miss?!

Here by way of VE Fantastical!
Yeah, you missed a little SHORT (and I mean SHORT) scene after the credits that involved Nick Fury.
Now you have to see it again!
It’s even better the second time, by the way.

I am so bummed I missed it! You are right Teri, good excuse to see it again!

Oh and be warned. Those are some looooooong credits! Get an extra popcorn to get you through.
May 28th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Yes, Teri is right…those credits are WAAAY long. Looks like either a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie teaser, an Avengers movie teaser or the plot line for the next Iron Man (which they have agreed to do by-the-way).
