While I have no idea how the Sahara actually feels I would assume it is the kind of hot that makes you hallucinate and pray for rain of any kind. That is how hot my house felt this weekend. We have yet to put any AC units in the window so we have been getting by with fans during the 90+ degree heat. A good fan can cool you off when it is pushing 80 degrees but take it above 90 and there are few fans powerful enough to cool you down and keep you cool. Even the poor cat has taken to hiding in strange spaces in the hopes of finding a hidden cool spot. On these hot days I often put ice in her water bowl assuming that like me a cool drink will help her cool down. For all I know she despises ice and thinks I am a jerk for spoiling her water…hopefully she doesn’t think that, but really, who knows?
I feel like spring has come and gone and summer has reared it’s sun burned head. Please summer, spare us the 100% humidty spells! If you must reach a temperature of 97 degrees can it at least be a dry heat? No? Ok fine, I’m moving to Nevada!
Update *** We have one AC unit in, I repeat one AC unit in! About 50 more and it should be tolerable in here.

What? No central AC? Hah! With just one flick of the switch we can break it, overload it–you name it. Nothing like paying 500% extra for “emergency” repairs.
I’m moving to Arizona where water coolers reign supreme. I wish.

Oh Paul, how I long for central air!
We now have 2 AC units in, so far, so we are moving in the right direction. I went to Vegas last year and boy do I miss that dry heat!

You probably don’t want to hear about our 58 degree weather that we’ve had for the last two weeks then

58 degrees, ouch that hurts VE!
I wouldn’t mind the heat so much if it wasn’t for this darn humidity!
