Boxed rice is one of the best inventions of all time. That might sound a bit dramatic but seriously, how amazing is it to be able to buy a box of rice that is the perfect amount for 2-4 people and can be made in less than 30 minutes? Pretty fabulous if you ask me.

Anyway, my favorite brand of boxed rice is Near East (no offense Uncle Bens!). They make a ton of different styles of rice, couscous and other products. While I have tried a few of the flavored rices my favorite is the original mix - rice pilaf mixed with toasted orzo and spices. It is the perfect compliment to almost any meal, flavorful, inexpensive and easy to prepare. I have made two boxes of it since Sunday!

Their website has a helpful recipe search feature as well as an online store. I can usually find their products at my two local supermarkets - Hannaford and Price Chopper.
