After a long summer of little to watch except for Wipeout and the olympics, the primetime shows are making a comeback. With the exception of some mid-season premieres, such as LOST, most of the scripted TV shows are coming back on within the next two weeks. I am both excited by this and dreading it. This summer freed me from the chains of primetime TV. I read a few books, and spent a lot of time outside relaxing without television. Of course, I could continue doing that during the fall but I know that once those shows are back on I will slowly creep back to the couch. At first just catching some of the premieres, then a show here and there and before you know it they got me - back on the couch night after night glued to the TV.
I would like to say that I have better things to do than watch television from 8 -10 p.m. most weeknights, but let’s be real here, even if there are other things going on how many of us rush home, or refuse to go out, to catch our favorite shows? Thankfully most of the major networks make their episodes available online and sites like Hulu also allow you to catch your favorite shows online after they have aired. I started watching some shows online last year and I think I will continue to do the same this year. It will enable me to catch my favorite programs, when I have time, and free me from the couch prison.
Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with TV?

I love my TV; I just hate watching TV (I watch movies on it instead)

I also love watching movies but I hate to admit that at least at the beginning of the new season I get sucked into a lot of the shows. Curse you network TV!
