Do you ever think - If I wasn’t a (insert job title here) I would like to be a….
I would love to be an olympic figure skater but alas I have no skills on the ice…none…can’t even skate from one side of the rink to the other. I will never stand on a podium in a tacky lycra dress with a medal around my neck. Sigh. But I will continue to watch figure skating and picture myself on the ice for the rest of my days, it is a lovely fantasy.
I also wish I was a songwriter. Whenever I am listening to music I find myself going - Dang, I wish I wrote that song! This happens constantly when I am listening to music. It is happening to me right now as I listen to Jimmy Eat World. I wish I wrote these words. I wish I wrote the words that echo from the mouths of thousands of people crammed into arenas all over the world…sweating and dancing and singing their hearts out.

I suppose “…an Oscar Meyer wiener…” won’t qualify as either something you wish you wrote, or something I wish I was.
I love my job as a writer. But if I’m going to go off dreaming and wishing, I wish I’d like to be Catherine Zeta-Jones’ photographer and biographer.

hehe well Paul I am sure whoever wrote “an Oscar Meyer weiner” is quite wealthy now thanks to that little tune, so I wouldn’t mind being the one who wrote it!

Sometimes I wish I could play an instrument, because sometimes I write songs in my sleep and then I don’t know what to do with them when I wake up and I end up forgetting them completely. Jimmy Eat World is great.

Diesel - Do your kids take music lessons in school? If so, you should bogart their free lessons and force them to teach you what they learn
