This morning I had to take my beloved kitty to the vet for an annual exam and a shot. Sounds easy enough but I have a cat who is absolutly terrified of the vet so getting her in the carrier bag, and then getting her to let the Dr. actually touch her are no small feats.
She did surprisingly well today, even got her nails cut (thanks to a kitty muzzle) and didn’t bite anyone. 4 stars!
As is usually the case when we walk into the vet’s office there were 4 kittens for adoption sitting in cages right near the front desk. This always breaks my heart as I want to adopt every kitten I see. There was one kitten in it’s own cage that was very energetic, clawing at everyone who walked by and happily playing with all of the toys in its cage. My husband noticed the card on the outside of the cage, the one that details the age/name of the kitty, etc. He noticed there was a note about how she came to this vet’s office…she was put in a duffle bag and thrown from a moving vehicle. Someone found her, very broken and bruised and brought her in. She is now doing fine and is awaiting a new forever home.
It was all I could do to walk out of there without that kitty in my arms after reading that. A true miracle cat…despite the odds she is still here! I cannot image what would compel someone to do something so horrific as to try to kill a helpless baby animal, but I am so thankful that she was found and rehabilitated. She must have an angel on her shoulder. Here’s hoping she finds a new home soon. If my husband is not careful I might go snatch her up while he is at work ![]()
