Not only was this past week my first Halloween in our new home - which went well, 18 trick or treaters and no smashed pumpkins - this weekend also marked our first anniversary of buying our home. Yup, it has been a whole year since we purchased our first home! Talking about time flying…

We are always saying to each other that we feel like we have lived here forever. All those years of renting seemed to melt away once we moved in here. I guess a lot of people feel that way. Once you have a home that is truly yours, everything before it seems less significant. This past year I grew my first tomato plants, decorated my first mantle, painted my first room and learned how to do a lot of things that I didn’t know I could do or would want to do. As far as first years go this one was pretty awesome.

Although I do imagine what it would be like to have a larger house - hello walk in closet and spa tub - I think we really did find the perfect house for us. I am so glad that those other houses we bid on went to someone else! Funny how things work out that way right? Without those other little disappointments we wouldn’t have found this house. I guess one way or another you really do end up exactly where you belong.
