Lately I have been posting a lot about gifts and Christmas in general. Yesterday I came across another gift idea that I thought would be worth sharing. A charity gift card - of sorts. The way I understand it, you purchase a gift card for someone in either $10, $25, $50 or $100 increments (plus a small fee) and then they can use the gift card (called a good card) to donate that amount to the charity of their choice. The website mentions over 1 million available charities to choose from.
Obviously there are many charitable options out there, you can donate to all sorts of organizations in someone else’s name, however I have never seen a gift card that allows the recipient to choose where they want to donate, pretty neat. This is one of those gifts that could come in especially handy for someone who you know is passionate about a particular cause but you aren’t exactly sure which organizations they support.
I have always been a fan of gift cards and this one sounds pretty rad. If I don’t end up buying one this Christmas I think I will end up purchasing one in the future for a birthday or other celebration.
Anyone have any experience with these good cards?
