As we get closer to the Christmas holiday it seems that there are more and more holiday specials on TV each week - Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, A Charlie Brown Christmas, etc. Which got me thinking about my favorite holiday films and why I like them. I enjoy my holiday sappiness with a large side of humor, so I always lean towards comedies for the most part. So here is my short list of 4 holiday films that don’t stink:
1. A Christmas Story - If you haven’t seen this movie you are seriously missing out. Please rent it tonight!
2. Scrooged - Bill Murray at his finest, and who doesn’t worship Carol Kane?!
3. Love Actually - For those of you who haven’t seen this film pay attention for the scene when Kiera Knightley’s character opens the door to her husband’s best friend who holds up a sign saying - Say it’s carolers….Gets.me.every.time!
4. The Holiday - My husband and I saw this film when it came out in 2006 and decided we were going to rent this film (we mine as well buy it at this point) every December to kick off the holiday season. So far I have seen it a total of 3 times and it keeps getting better. You will fall in love with Jack Black, promise!

What about White Christmas, Bing Crosby, it’s a classic!
I’m sort of biased I just finished watching it. My second favorite film is Love Actually. I love the little boy breaking all the rules at the airport. So cute!
