Christmas is just around the corner and I have a lot of wrapping left to do. Being that we have a relatively small house I didn’t want to start too early as wrapped gifts are much harder to store than unwrapped gifts. Once you have delicate bows and ribbons to contend with, the presents seem to multiply like gremlins. Now that we are at the one week mark I guess I will just have to live with an over crowded house full of wrapped goodies. Things could be worse!
I would put the presents under the tree if I didn’t have a very mischevious cat who loves to lay on and play with wrapped boxes. Just ask our Christmas tree how much grief she has been giving him!
Thankfully, the wrapping process is not a horrendous one for me. Thanks to a part-time job I had at a high end boutique I now consider myself a master of wrapping paper. I had to wrap some pretty oddly shaped (and incredibly heavy and expensive) things during my time there and I learned a lot of techniques for making any gift look professionally wrapped.
The best tip I can give: buy high quality paper and ribbons, it is not only easier to work with but nice wrapping materials will make even the most modest gift look like it is worth a million bucks! If you don’t want to pay through the nose, buy your paper in January for the following year. Even the high end stores put their holiday goodies on clearance.
