Some weeks it is hard to find inspiration; the inspiration to get my work done, or to find some creativity. This week is one of those weeks. Feel like I am dragging a bit, or perhaps in need of a very long vacation. Like the summer breaks I had in elementary school before I started babysitting. Wake up, decide what to watch on TV, play outside until it got too hot, watch some more TV, color, put a puzzle together, read a book, go to sleep…repeat the next day. Although these days I think a long break would actually bore me. As much as I would love some downtime I know that after a few days I would most likely be bored to tears.

I guess this frigid weather has us all (at least those caught in the frigid weather) feeling a bit trapped and uninspired lately. No sunshine, no motivation to bundle up from head to toe to go out in the 9 degree weather.  Thoughts of spring dance around in my head, the front porch, basil growing in my garden, the breeze. I have a framed picture hanging in my kitchen of a shot I took last spring of my backyard . The grass and trees look especially vibrant and the most delicate pink potted plant is sitting on my garden bench. Every time I see the picture it reminds me that at some point this snow will melt and I will see that sight again. I will be able to walk in the grass and watch the hoards of red cardinals that circle my neighbors feeder. If only spring could get here a little sooner…
