All winter I have been confused by something my cat has been doing, or rather not doing. She always loved to sleep in a basket with a blanket during the winter months. For years she would take daily naps in a small basket with a cozy blanket, until this year. This year she decided to boycott the basket.

Another thing the kitty has always loved, and still does, is cardboard boxes. Even during the basket boycott she still loved to commandeer any cardboard box that came into the house. Even if a box was way too small for her to fit into that wouldn’t stop her from trying over and over again. So recently when we received a gift in the mail that came in a cardboard box I put the box in the office and let her go to town for a few days. She would jump in and out of it over and over again, meowing like crazy, having the time of her life. Then I thought…hmmm…what if I took the blanket out of the basket (the one she was still boycotting) and put it in the cardboard box? See below for results….now she won’t come out of the box!
