So after that unbearable (and unseasonable) heat we had recently we are back to our normal upstate NY May weather. Not hot, not cold, a little rain and lots of things in bloom.
My lilacs finally popped open! Is there anything better than opening your bedroom curtains in the morning and looking down on your lilac trees? Right now, I have to say no there isn’t, because it is a pretty spectacular site first thing in the morning. As long as there are lilacs outside it feels like all is right with the world. Tomato plants have a similar effect on me. There is something so delicious about walking outside to your own garden and picking a ripe tomato to put on your salad. Everything tastes better when it comes from your own garden.
Lilac pics to follow…when I muster up the energy to get my pregnant self outside and take some photos ![]()
As long as there are lilacs… was originally mixed on May 5 at 10:22 am, and then promptly served in Teetotaled

I got my tomato plants in over the weekend. Home grown tomatoes–my favorite food ever in the world.

I’ve never had a lilac tree, so I couldn’t say about that…but I couldn’t agree with you more about tomatoes.

Well…I don’t know about EVERYTHING. I don’t EVEN want to know where balogna comes from and I certainly wouldn’t want to produce it from my garden…
