Every month of pregnancy is extremely different, and there are high and lows that come with each trimester. Most people spend the first trimester feeling awful, spend most of the second trimester feeling pretty good and finish off with the third trimester feeling tired and achy. The 8th month of pregnancy has been very interesting and extremely different from the previous months.
For example, because of my ever expanding midsection, things like sitting at a restaurant table for an hour or watching a movie have become difficult. Basically, staying in any one position for too long becomes uncomfortable. It has taught me to become a master of my own posture. Sometimes it only requires a tiny movement, leaning an inch or two to one side, to relieve the pressure. Other times it requires going from standing to sitting to laying down and then back to standing all within 10 minutes just to get some relief.
Another thing I have learned, your belly looks a lot bigger than you think it does. Because it is a slow process, the increase in size of ones own belly seems to happen naturally and gradually. You will be reminded of how big you are whenever you see someone you have not seen in a few weeks. Most likely they will exclaim something to the affect of -OMG, you got SO much bigger! or - There is no way you will make it to your due date, you are huge! Some people might take offense to these types of greetings, I however have learned to embrace it. There is nothing negative about this giant belly of mine so therefore taking offense to any comments regarding it just seems silly. I love my belly!
One thing I have enjoyed and will miss about pregnancy is that for the first time in my life I have not worried about sucking my stomach in. Let’s face it ladies, we all do it, we all suck in the gut (however tiny some peoples’ may be) when we are in certain situations/outfits. We were taught to do this at a young age. Once pregnant I realized my belly is fantastic and the bigger it got the bigger the baby got, so embracing it was incredibly easy. I hope I won’t revert right back to my stomach sucking in ways as soon as the baby is born, but most likely I will eventually. Oh well, I enjoyed the reprieve.

I love this post, because it is SOOOO true. My belly expands so gradually that I’ve just become accustomed to it, but when people see me, they’re always exclaiming about how much larger it is lol.
I’m glad that you’ve been able to embrace your pregnant shape =)
