About the Author

The name of this site is a tongue in cheek reference to my allergy to alcohol. Thankfully, it did not develop until after I graduated college. (Good thing, since college is like a bar with mandatory schoolwork). One day I had a glass of wine, the same wine I'd enjoyed many times before. This time, though, I had a violent allergic reaction. Hence, I was "teetotaled" - forced into an alcohol free lifestyle, which as it turns out is not a bad place to be at all. This was one of the life-changing moments that made me realize how vital it is to pursue a truly healthy lifestyle.

Even before the great teetotaling, came my diagnosis with Lupus (which may or may not be related). Lupus made me realize that it was up to me to take charge of my health and find an integrative way to keep myself healthy. I am proud to say that I found a balance that works for me, and I know how lucky I am to be doing so well. Many people with Lupus and other auto-immune diseases suffer constantly.

That being said, this is not a site just for Lupus patients or those who are allergic to alcohol. Although I do hope that people who have similar issues will be able to relate and find some humor in what I have to say. I hope that this site will be a mix of innovative, thought-provoking, fun, helpful, cool, weird, and fresh ideas.

So what makes me tick?

I enjoy ballroom dancing, camping, reading, writing, wandering aimlessly around used bookstores, teaching my cat odd tricks, people who are cooky and interesting, trying new recipes, going to drive-in movies with my husband, and working on this site.
